Sergio Aguero reveals manager’s ambitions

Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero has revealed that his current manager, Pep Guardiola, would ‘love’ to manage the Argentina National Side one day.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager has only just begun his reign at the Etihad and has enjoyed a successful start, winning 6 out of his first 7 games with his team.

But Aguero says the Spaniard would have been interested in taking over Argentina’s national side if he’d been approached.

“He is an amazing guy,” Aguero told TyC Sports. “There is a reason he did as well as he did in Bayern and won everything. He is a winner.

“Do you remember there was talk about the national team a while ago?

“(Guardiola) told me: ‘You guys didn’t call me. I would love to coach you.’”

It is not clear how serious Guardiola was about moving into international management at this stage of his career.

Guardiola is open to the prospect of extending his current three-year contract, but says he will put off any decision until the final months of his deal.

He said: “I can stay more time or less. Less I know will happen – it depends on the results or if the chairman is not happy with me or our job.

“But if they are happy with me I can stay that period and if I am happy and they are happy, why not longer?”
