Pep Guardiola has shared his views on racism after Raheem Sterling alleged he was racially abused during Chelsea’s 2-0 victory at Stamford Bridge.

The England international was trying to collect a ball and it appeared on TV a number of Chelsea supporter hurling abuses at him. The matter got the attention of both the clubs and later Chelsea confirmed they have banned four supporters after investigating the matter.

A number of players and managers also lent their support towards Sterling who handled the situation quite brilliantly. Racial abuse is being viewed as a heinous crime and FIFA has very strict rules when it comes to tackling criticism.

Guardiola too voiced his concern on this delicate issue. “There was concern about what happened but he [Sterling] has been quite good. He made a statement, he was quite clear about his thoughts.

“Racism is everywhere. People focus on football but it is not just in football, unfortunately.

“What happens with immigrants, refugees around the world, how we treat them. We have to fight for a better society.”

The Manchester City gaffer also praised Sterling for dealing with the situation with utter ease. “Raheem said it perfectly. He is an incredible person, an incredible human being.”
