Jurgen Klopp warns manager that the schedule in England is a challenge

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has had some words of advice for Pep Guardiola and has warned him that the Premier League schedule will provide him with his greatest managerial challenge so far.

Guardiola has announced he is leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the season and has also confirmed that he wants to work in England and the Premier League.

Since announcing his plans, Guardiola has been linked with taking over at Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United, but it’s the Liverpool boss who has offered him words of advice.

Klopp only arrived in England this year, replacing Brendan Rodgers at Anfield, and he’s been quick to warn the Spaniard that the schedule in England will provide him with his greatest managerial challenge to date.

Klopp Warns Guardiola

“The number of games is the biggest difference,” he said.

“When I came here, I didn’t know there were two rounds [legs] in the semi-final of the Capital One Cup.

“I had people in Germany, saying: ‘Yeah, you’re in the final again! Idiots!

“In Germany, when you tell people that if you draw in the FA Cup, you play again, they say: ‘What?’ Here you have penalties and extra time, but only after the second game,” he said.

“That’s the thing, it’s the number of games… football, football, football.”

Despite the warning, Klopp thinks Guardiola will be a success in the Premier League, but only if he has the squad to do so.

“I’m sure he will buy a few players and have a good team… 35 players or whatever,” said Klopp.
