Pep Guardiola Refuses To Blame Referee

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has refused to comment on the need of the VAR in the Premier League following their 1-1 draw against Wolves in the Premier League.

Wolves took the lead in a controversial manner as defender Willy Boly handled the ball to send the ball into the nets. Both the referee and the linesman failed to notice the incident and allowed the goal.

City could have had a penalty as David Silva was clearly pushed inside the penalty box but Martin Atkinson seemed to be disinterested by his appeal as he decided to keep the watch running.

Later Guardiola was seen talking to the match officials after the game got over. On being asked about the subject of their conversation the former Barcelona boss answered, “Of course, Wolves deserve compliments. It’s none of my business [whether Boly’s goal should bring in VAR]. The Premier League will decide, and when they decide VAR will be here. When I spoke to the referee [at the end of the match], I was just giving them a compliment about their job.”
