Pep Guardiola To Be Handed A £150m Transfer Kitty After Scrapped CL Ban

Fresh reports are flying in stating Manchester City’s revamped transfer plans after UEFA ban was lifted.

The Cityzens were set to miss two years of European football through FFP violations but the penalties have been overturned.

Not only that but their fine worth €30 million has also been reduced to €10 million. Pep Guardiola is now about to revamp this side with at least £150 million to spend this summer. Tightening up their spending last term resulted in them convincingly bowing out of the title race.

Guardiola will be sure to address the squad weaknesses with plenty of names linked to the club. In retrospect, £150 million might not be a lot to make a string of additions according to City’s standards but it is a considerable amount. City’s last addition was a defensive midfielder in Rodri, who cost a record sum of around £60 million alone.

Right now, the Cityzens could use a more competent hand in defence, especially at centre-back. After the departure of Vincent Kompany, they have looked defensively far too stretched. Benjamin Mendy has not been too convincing at left-back either with Oleksandr Zinchenko kept on as a makeshift backup. Guardiola also lost one of his key attacking elements in Leroy Sane to Bayern Munich. He will definitely need to be replaced.

Overall, we can expect a few new faces for the 2020/21 season at the Etihad.
