Real Madrid defender Pepe has revealed the one Barcelona player he would sign for Real Madrid, should he ever be allowed to choose one.
And no, it’s none of their clinical front 3 of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Neymar, who are all in astonishing form.
Despite the very deep rivalry between the two clubs, there have been a handful of players who have made the switch from the Nou Camp to the Bernabau throughout history, the last of which in 2007, when striker Javier Saviola made the brave transfer.
The Portuguese defender actually opted for his international teammate, Andre Gomes, who signed for Barcelona from Valencia this summer.
When asked whether he would sign Gomes, he said,
“Yes, we played together in the national team, but he wanted to go to Barcelona.”
Gomes featured during Barca’s emphatic win over Celtic in the Champions League as they eventually claimed a convincing 7-0 victory with a bright future expected for the 23-year-old.
Maybe he’ll be next to make that switch.
