Petr Cech planning Chelsea stay

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has insisted that he has no plans of leaving the club this Summer.

The Czech international has been linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge as it’s believed Jose Mourinho may make youngster Thibaut Courtois his new number-one for the campaign after spending a successful three years in Spain with Atletico Madrid.

Both Cech and Courtois have previously said they are not prepared to sit on the bench for the new season, but it now appears that the veteran is not looking to leave and is ready to fight for his starting spot.

“I’m staying at Chelsea, that for sure,” Cech told Ekipa24 after Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Olimpija Ljubljana on Sunday.

“I really don’t mind that there are two great keepers at Chelsea. That motivates me ever more.

“You always have to fight if you want to be on great level. And there is not only Courtouis and me, even Matej Delac is showing that he is great keeper.”

Both French sides AS Monaco and Paris Saint Germain have shown interest in the 32-year-old, whilst Atletico have also shown interest in Courtois once again, but it appears both players are set for a West London stay.
