Mourinho with big plans for centre-back
It’s thought that Jose Mourinho wants Phil Jones to become the ‘John Terry’ of Manchester United.
Jones was beset by injuries last season, making just 13 appearances for United and missing out on England’s Euro 2016 squad.
With Mourinho having already signed central defender Eric Bailly from Villarreal,Jones looked to be facing an uncertain future at United.
But it is understood Mourinho has faith in Jones, despite his injury woes, and believes the 24-year-old can be like John Terry was for him at Chelsea.
Jones made just seven starts last season after an ankle injury ruled him out for three months, his last United appearance coming on January 2.
