Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang believes he is yet to hit his peak form despite netting a brace in Arsenal’s 4-2 derby victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Aubameyang has had an instant impact at the North London club as his flurry of goals has pushed Arsenal into the top four. The talismanic forward netted a brace as the Gunners displayed an all-round performance to upset their North London rivals.

The 29 year old has been a prolific goal scorer since arriving at Emirates in January and if Arsenal are to compete for the Premier League title this term the former Borussia Dortmund forwards has to continue his brilliant form in front of the goal.

Aubameyang said, “I think I am not at 100 per cent but it’s coming. It’s coming and I felt very good on the pitch. I’m really happy because my best form is coming.

“The team helped me to settle in good. It’s gone well. We are working to play matches but I am really happy here. It’s going well.

“I think everybody knows it – I like to play up front

“But I know that I can help the team. Sometimes the coach puts me on the left side but as I said it [centre forward] is my favourite position.

“We knew that if we won this game we would be in the top four. It’s great now. We have to look forward because we have an important game on Wednesday [against Manchester United]. We know that it’s tough to stay in the top four.”
