October 2014 – Diafra Sakho – West Ham United
Another month and another new face to the Premier League picking up the Player of the Month gong.
Diafra Sakho was one of Sam Allardyce’s biggest buys over the Summer, and he didn’t disappoint.
During October, the West Ham striker netted three goals and also got an assist, but despite winning the award, Sakho admitted he was shocked.
“I’m a bit surprised,” he said. “I’d like to thank everyone that’s helped me along the way, especially here and also earlier in my career at Metz.”
