The Frenchman is close to finalising his return to Old Trafford
Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has arrived in Manchester ahead of a ‘secret medical’ that will take place at the beginning of next week, according to reports in Italy.
The 23-year-old is all set to conclude a lengthy transfer saga which has seen both the Red Devils and Serie A outfit Juventus agree a fee of £93 million, which will still cost United in excess of £110 million, with agent fees taken into account.
However, the medical will not go ahead until after Manchester United’s community shield fixture with Leicester City at Wembley on Sunday, due to the team doctor being down in London with the rest of the squad.
Pogba is then expected to be officially named a United player by the end of the week at the latest, in order for the move to be cleared in time for him to feature against Bournemouth on Sunday, when United begin their Premier League campaign under new boss Jose Mourinho.
Former Red Devils winger Nani gave his approval of Pogba’s return to United, saying: “Pogba is a great player, there’s not doubt about it.
“The numbers today are different, how much clubs pay for players.
“I don’t want to talk about numbers but the player is a fantastic player. Any team who buys him will be very well served.”
Pogba has been prolific for Juventus, since leaving Manchester United on a free transfer in 2012, and will hope to use his title-winning experience with Juve in order to, once again, turn United into Premier League champions.
