Paul Pogba might be on his way back to Juventus in a swap deal involving Douglas Costa.
The player has hit a rich vein of form in the last few matches after a lacklustre start to the season.
Manchester United might let their midfield ace Paul Pogba rejoin his former club Juventus in a swap deal involving winger Douglas Costa. The French superstar was brought in for a the then world record transfer fee to Old Trafford but has not been able to live up to the expectations of the Red Devils until now. The World Cup-winning midfield ace has hit a rich vein of form and has helped his side to victories in their last five matches. He has notched up back to back braces against Bournemouth and Crystal Palace and has helped himself to win the club’s Player of the Month award for December.
According to Tuttosport, as cited by ESPN, the player has been tipped to be included in a deal to bring the Brazilian Costa to Ols Trafford this January. The move would have reportedly gone through if United’s former manager Jose Mourinho was not sacked last month. Pogba had been constantly underperforming during his regime and the change of manager has seemed to have worked wonders for him.
Under the present gaffer Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the player has not set a foot wrong so far and has been the pinnacle of success for the Red Devils. Given his current form, it is to be seen whether the club lets him leave and brings in Costa or lets him stay put.
