Porto have told Arsenal and Liverpool that forward Jackson Martinez will cost £40m.
The striker was in the Colombian squad for this summer’s World Cup in Brazil, scoring twice in a 4-1 win against Japan.
He has 53 goals from 70 games for the Portuguese side, and this prolific form has attracted the attention of Liverpool and Arsenal.
Liverpool have struggled for a regular striker since selling Luis Suarez to Barcelona, while Arsenal have been beset by injuries this term.
Martinez is nicknamed Cha Cha Cha, for his fancy dance moves on the pitch. If either club can afford the fee, fans may be seeing these moves on a Premier League pitch soon.
