West Ham star Michail Antonio says that Liverpool need to fix their defensive issues.
Jurgen Klopp needs to fix Liverpool’s defensive problems, according to Antonio, who believes that Liverpool are one of the best sides in the league going forward.
The statistics back him up, as Jurgen Klopp’s side are one of the most dangerous attacking outfits in the league, having scored the joint-most goals this season (55) along with Chelsea.
But they’ve also conceded more goals that anyone else in the top six and their top four hopes are in danger after their poor start to 2017.
Liverpool have won just one game – 2-0 against Tottenham – in the new year.
Speaking on this, Antonio said:
“Going forwards they’re one of the best teams in the league. Red arrows, basically!
He then added that despite Liverpool’s ability to get forward well, they are leaking too many goals and need to fix this problem if they hope to win the league.
“Defensively that’s where their trouble is. They need to sort out that back four because they’re just leaking goals and you can’t really win the league if you’re leaking goals.”
The West Ham man isn’t wrong, with Liverpool conceding more goals than anyone in the top six, they could really do with tightening up at the back if they hope to make a late push for silverware this season.
