Premier League target Mauro Icardi pens new deal with Inter Milan

Manchester United and Chelsea target Mauro Icardi has dealt a significant blow to their chances of signing him in the summer, by agreeing a deal to stay at the San Siro,

Inter have reportedly rejected bids of £30m for the Argentine, whose fine form has caught the eye of top European clubs this season. With the decline of Inter Milan – who lie 11th in the league – and Juventus’ recent monopoly of the Serie A title, leaving Italy may be Icardi’s only hope of reaching the heights his potential deserves.

But Icardi’s recent public displays of displeasure over his negligible wage has sprung Inter’s hierarchy into offering Icardi a new, lucrative deal that the player has agreed on, with the confirmation set to come in the next few days.

The tying down of Icardi may see the chase for his compatriot, Paulo Dybala, intensify as the Palermo striker looks set to leave at the end of the season.
