Di Maria came close to making a move to PSG last summer but the Financial Fair Play rules meant that the Ligue 1 side were unable to complete the deal, the Argentine has previously made his fondness towards PSG known publicly.
United were able to step in and secure Di Maria after PSG’s failed attempt but his long-term future is still unclear.
Di Maria made an impressive start to life in the Premier League but has hit a rough patch recently, and the Argentine having his house robbed whilst him and his family were at home won’t have helped things.
Van Gaal has confirmed that, as you would expect, the incident has affected the player’s happiness at the club and left his wife too scared to return to the house.
PSG are hoping to pounce on the situation and convince the midfielder to make a move to the French capital in the summer.
Reports in France have said that Di Maria would like to link up with international team-mates Ezequiel Lavezzi and Javier Pastore, but it seems PSG would need to seel other players to fund the proposed move.
