According to reports in France, PSG are keen on signing Lyon left-back Ferland Mendy and are preparing an offer to rope in the 23-year old. Mendy has been an important player for Lyon ever since joining the club from Le Havre in 2017. So far, Mendy has made 66 appearances for Lyon, scoring three goals and registering seven assists. This season, Mendy has done really well for Lyon so far. He has made 31 appearances for the club, scoring three goals and providing as many assists.

Mendy’s performances for Lyon led to his first call-up to the national team following the withdrawal of his namesake Benjamin Mendy. Ferland Mendy made his debut for France in their friendly against Uruguay which France won 1-0.

Despite having two quality left-backs in Juan Bernat and Layvin Kurzawa and  a back-up in Stanley N’Soki, PSG want to add another left-back. The Parisians think that a bid of ÂŁ35 million will be enough to land Mendy. However, PSG aren’t the only club interested in signing Mendy as Barcelona are strongly linked with him too. Barca are eager to have some cover for Jordi Alba and they believe Mendy would be an ideal signing for the club.

Provided Mendy does sign for PSG or Barca, it will be exceedingly difficult for him to be a regular in both clubs.
