It seems highly likely that Paris Saint-Germain will part ways with Edinson Cavani and Thiago Silva after the 2019/20 campaign.

Both veterans are in the final years of their contract with PSG and their replacements seem to have already been signed by the club. ESPN understands Thomas Tuchel could sign more personnel but as far the players are concerned, PSG’s mind is made up.

Silva is 35 now and has served the Ligue 1 champions for over 7 years, making close to 300 appearances and winning the league title 6 times. For a certain period of his PSG career, the Brazilian was even hailed as one of the best centre-backs in the world. Slowly his form dipped and it is understandable why the Parisians might want to let go of their captain.

Edinson Cavani is in the same boat as Silva but he is younger and does have offers from other clubs. Atletico Madrid and Manchester United have expressed an interest in signing him along with David Beckham’s Miami Inter in the MLS. Cavani is PSG all-time top goalscorer with 195 in 283 appearances so far.

He could be a short term answer to United’s scoring problems just like Zlatan Ibrahimovich was a few years back, making the switch from PSG.
