PSG have signed defender Thilo Kehrer from Schalke 04 at a fee of £33 million. Kehrer, who is of Burundian descent, joined Schalke’s youth team in 2012. He joined the club’s reserve team in 2015 before joining the senior team in 2016.
During his time at Schalke o4’s senior team, Kehrer played 45 Bundesliga games, scoring 4 goals and registering as many assists. He helped the club finish second in the Bundesliga.
Kehrer is yet to make his senior debut for Germany but he has already made 9 appearances for the U-21 team. The defender was part of the team that won the U17 European Championship in Poland last summer. He came in as a second half substitute in Germany’s semi-final against England at Tychy.
Thilo Kehrer is PSG’s third signing this summer after Gianluigi Buffon and Kylian Mbappe. PSG began their Ligue 1 campaign with a 3-0 win over Caen. They next take on Guingamp on Saturday.
