With only  days left to go for PSG’s Champions League clash against Liverpool, they have two major injury worries in Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. Two integral cogs of PSG’s machine, both Neymar and Mbappe suffered injuries during the international break.

During France’s friendly against Uruguay at Paris, Mbappe injured his shoulder after falling in the 36th minute. He left the pitch and Florian Thauvin replaced. Following the match, France manager Didier Deschamps said, “He has a sore shoulder, he’s fallen badly. He will have to see after with the medical staff. I hope it’s not bad.”

Neymar played only 8 minutes of Brazil’s friendly against Cameroon before leaving after he felt some pain in his adductor muscle. Brazil’s team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar said that Neymar’s injury won’t be long term. Lasmar said, “He came off complaining of pain. He felt a discomfort, he will need a bit more time to evaluate it and take a scan, but in principle, it is not a serious injury.”

PSG are currently third in their Champions League group behind Napoli and Liverpool. They lost their previous match against Liverpool at Anfield thanks to a late winner by Roberto Firmino. However, this time they have the home advantage. Even though PSG have some really good players in their squad, the absence of Neymar and Mbappe for the Liverpool game will be a massive blow for them.

Before playing Liverpool, PSG play a Ligue 1 match against Toulouse on Saturday.
