West Londoners will be back in the second-tier next season
Queens Park Rangers have been relegated from the Barclays Premier League.
Rangers’ traveled to Manchester City knowing that a defeat would confirm their relegation back to English football’s second-tier, but instead succumbed to a 6-0 hammering on a sun-kissed day at the Etihad Stadium.
Sergio Aguero sent the hosts on their way after four minutes played, with Aleksandar Kolarov adding a second for Manuel Pellegrini’s men with 32 minutes on the clock, from a long-range free-kick.
The Loftus Road outfit conceded a third five minutes after the interval had resumed, Aguero conce again getting his name on the score-sheet.
Argentine Aguero completed his hat-trick with a penalty after 65 minutes. Crowd favourite James Milner, tapping home from close-range at the far post.
Chris Ramsey’s side went out without a wimper, when David Silva connected with Wilfried Bony’s back-heel, with the Spaniard rounding goalkeeper Robert Green and bundling the ball home. Beautiful stuff!
Rangers woes
QPR’s defeat at the Citizens compounds a woeful season for all concerned at the club, who now face the threat of expulsion from the Football League next season, should they fail to pay a Financial Fair Play fine.
They are in a mess, and it could possibly become a whole lot worse this summer, the question is though, who will join them and Burnley?
