Manchester United and Liverpool want midfield star
AS Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan is in the middle of a transfer tussle between Premier League rivals Manchester United and Liverpool.
The English duo are keen to sign the Belgium at the end of the season, but could face a tricky challenge in getting the deal done due to the midfielder being co-owned by both Roma and Cagliari.
However, it’s all-but confirmed that the 26-year-old will be on the move at the end of this season as neither club can afford to sign him permanently and take full ownership of him.
Premier League Interest
Liverpool have been long-term admirers for the midfield man but in recent weeks United have expressed their interest and are reportedly ready to stump up £29million in order to beat their rivals to the signing.
Nainggolan has previously mentioned that he’s 50% sure he’s leaving Roma this Summer and a move to Old Trafford is likely to be his favoured destination duo to Champions League football next season.
It’s looking more and more likely that United will beat Liverpool to fourth spot this season which would leave Brendan Rodgers‘ side without Champions League football.
United Plans
United have recently sent a scouting team out to Italy to watch the Belgium international and will look to act fast once the current campaign ends in May.
Louis Van Gaal is expected to have yet another busy Summer at Old Trafford as he continues to overhaul the United squad.
