Rafa Benitez Insists Manchester United Need To Finish In The Top Four At Least

Rafa Benitez believes Manchester United need to be in the top four at the end of the season.

Newcastle United welcome a rejuvenated United who won their last three Premier League games with sheer domination. The arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has proved to be a catalyst in the recent upturn of form and they would be hoping to maintain their winning run in the Tyneside also.

The Red Devils particularly don’t have a very good record at the St James Park as they haven’t been able to defeat the Magpies since 2015. But on Wednesday United really have a tough task to cut out as beating Newcastle on their home turf would need a brilliant performance from them.

Benitez said, “It’s a team that has to be easily in the top four, that is very clear.

“They can compete against Manchester City, Liverpool, anyone. We are talking about one of the biggest clubs in the world in terms of everything.

“The players they have, they are so good that if you want to win or get points against them you have to perform really well.”

“When you are a top side like Manchester United, spending millions every year, you have to be in the top four and you have to win the title.

“For them, that’s the pressure. Not just now, they had it before, and for sure they will feel the pressure in a few weeks when they will be there fighting with Tottenham, Chelsea, City, Liverpool and Arsenal.”
