Barcelona midfielder Rafinha said that he is happy to have scored in yesterday’s Champions League fixture against his former club Inter Milan. Rafinha opened the scoring for Barcelona in the 32nd minute before Jordi Alba added a second in the 83rd minute. Rafinha’s goal was his first ever Champions League goal and his first for Barcelona since February 2017.

Barcelona are now at the top of their group and are in a very good position to qualify for the knockout stages.

Following the match, Rafinha said he was happy to score and that Barcelona will give everything they have against Real Madrid in Sunday’s El Clasico.

The Brazilian said, “I’m very happy because I started, I feel good, I scored and we won. This result gives us a lot of confidence and, like always, we’re going to go with everything on Sunday. We’re very happy with our performance against a team who were going to make things very difficult for us. We played very well.

The Champions League is special for us, although the other competitions are also very important.”

Barcelona currently lead the La Liga table and they will hope to maintain their position on Sunday at Camp Nou. Real Madrid haven’t won any of their last four La Liga matches. their win against Viktoria Plzen wasn’t very convincing. However, they cannot be written off as they have some pretty fine footballers in their team. The match will be very crucial for manager Julen Lopetegui as it could well determine his future at the club.
