Former Liverpool boss Roy Evans believes Sterling’s departure is imminent.

Evans believes that Liverpool’s activity in the transfer market so far gives a big indication to the future of Raheem Sterling.

The Reds have already brought in Danny Ings and Roberto Firmino, whilst James Milner is set to join once his contract officially expires at Manchester City.

Evans has said the strengthening of the attacking side of the team is all being done in preparation for Sterling‘s exit, which he describes as a ‘done deal’.

He told talkSPORT: “If you look at the transfer market, and the way it has been with the amount of players Liverpool have bought, it [Sterling’s exit] must be in the equation.”

“I don’t think they would be spending the amount of money they have if they didn’t think Raheem Sterling was already a done deal to somewhere.”

Interest in Sterling

The England international has already been subject to two bids from Manchester City, the second of which being worth up to ÂŁ40millon, but the Reds knocked it back.

A number of European clubs will all be tracking the activity of Sterling but City so far, are the only to come forward with a cash offer.
