The Matthijs de Ligt has dragged on for months now, but this is the first time the footballing fraternity has had a concrete update regarding which club the Dutchman will join this summer. The 19-year-old defender has been coveted by the likes of Juventus, Barcelona, Paris Saint Germain and Manchester United this summer, with the Old Lady leading the race for his signature.

And now, the player’s agent Mino Raiola has given a concrete update on where the Ajax captain might be heading next season. De Ligt has already agreed on personal terms with Juventus and is now waiting for the clubs to agree on a fee.

Ajax have rejected the Bianconeri’s opening ÂŁ45m for the Dutchman, while Raiola has asked the clubs to hurry up and close the deal.

“Agreements have been made with Matthijs and it is up to Ajax how to deal with this,” Raiola told Dutch publication De Telegraaf.

Juventus are looking to complete the deal as soon as possible and are keen for the player to complete a medical by Wednesday this week.
