Frenchman finally wants out of Real Madrid

Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane has put Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester United on red alert after reportedly claiming he wants out of the Bernabeu.

According to reports in Spain, Varane is considering a Summer exit in order to play regular first-team football, something he isn’t getting with Madrid due to Pepe and Sergio Ramos‘ partnership.

Change of Management at Bernabeu

Despite Varane only being 22-years-old, Madrid have not used him regularly enough and now face an uphill battle to keep him at the club with both United and Chelsea circling ready to make a bid.

However, the Frenchman’s future may change now that Carlo Ancelotti has left and Rafael Benitez has joined as the Spaniard may give Varane a chance to prove himself at the club.

If not, then the centre-back will choose to leave and is reportedly valued around ÂŁ22million.

Premier League Interest

Both Chelsea and United are in the market for a new centre-back, with the former eyeing a long-term replacement for John Terry, whilst the latter needs to strengthen their back-line after heavily relying on youth players last season.

Chelsea are thought to be very interested in signing the defender as it was Jose Mourinho who took Varane to the Bernabeu in the first place after labelling him as the best young centre-back in the world.

Varane Out/Bonucci In?

According to a Spanish newspaper, Madrid will willingly sell Varane if they find a suitable replacement first.

It’s been reported that the club want to sign Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci.
