Former-Chelsea assistant believes Belgian should leave the club

Ray Wilkins believes Eden Hazard would be better off leaving Chelsea as it’s clear his head isn’t in it anymore.

The Belgian has had an abysmal campaign, only scoring in the FA Cup, and has been questioned by the majority of the Chelsea fans for lackluster performances.

Many questions have been raised regarding Hazard‘s future, and after another no-show against Paris Saint-Germain, people are stating it’s time for him to leave Stamford Bridge.

After winning the PFA Player of the Year last year, big things were expected from Hazard once again this season, but with just nine games left to go, he’s still yet to register a single goal in the Premier League.

His performances have been lackluster and he’s lost the majority of the fanbase for his below-par performances.

Talking about Hazard on TalkSPORT, Chelsea’s former-assistant manager Wilkins believes it’s best for both parties if he leaves the club in the summer.

Hazard To Leave?

“Over the last couple of games it has appeared that his heart is not in it,” Wilkins told talkSPORT.

“Whether he is lacking an immense amount of confidence [I don’t know]. He was absolutely outstanding last season. I think even Jose Mourinho said he was the best under-24 player in the world last year.

“His drop from grace has been dramatic. It might be better off that he does part company [with the club].

“He is hugely talented and he showed at times last night with a couple of little turns and darts away from people that he is a top quality player, but if your heart’s not in it, then why stay?”
