Reports suggest that Real Madrid are interested in signing Manchester City star Raheem Sterling. Los Blancos want to sign the winger in order to find a suitable replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo left Real for Juventus this summer and has done well there so far.
In Ronaldo’s absence, Real started well but their performances have dipped lately. They haven’t won any of their last four matches, three of which ended in a defeat. They are currrently fourth in the La Liga table behind Sevilla, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
Real Madrid are in dire need of a player who can provide the killer instinct that Ronaldo did for them from 2009-2018. Los Blancos were eager to sign Chelsea talisman Eden Hazard following the World Cup and even prepared a massive bid for him. However, Hazard stayed at Stamford Bridge.
Hazard himself has said that he might play for Real Madrid soon. Even though they have Hazard on their radar, Real are keeping close tabs on Sterling who they think will be a big name in World Football.
Sterling has impressed under Pep Guardiola this season. In 6 Premier League matches, he has scored 4 goals. Manchester City are keen to offer a new deal to the 23-year old but haven’t reached any agreement so far.
Raheem Sterling is surely a player who can be a big star in the future and signing him can really benefit Real Madrid. However, the question still remains that with Hazard having said that he dreams of playing for Real, who will the club prefer to buy?
