With less than a month to go until the end of the 2012/13 season Real Madrid can boast to be the only team in the big five European leagues that have not lost a single home match. Across all four of the official competitions that they have played in this season the Whites have a record of 23 wins and five draws at the Santiago Bernabeu, with 84 goals scored and 25 conceded. The Whites are three matches away from completing a flawless season at home. Malaga and Osasuna are the teams that have yet to visit Real Madrid’s stadium in La Liga, while Atletico will do so for the cup final on 17th May.
The latest win against Valladolid extended Real Madrid’s excellent record this season on home turf. As well as not having lost any of the 28 matches played in the La Liga, the Champions League, cup and Super Cup, the Whites have averaged three goals for and less than one against. One has to go back to January 2012 to find their last defeat in the Santiago Bernabeu. Since Jose Mourinho’s arrival the team have managed to get great results at home but has never got to this point in the season undefeated. Last season they lost two matches and in 2010/11, three.
