He batted away talk about possible transfer targets

Real Madrid have made some impressive additions during the summer transfer window like Thibaut Coutois, Andriy Lunin, Vinicius Junior and Alvaro Odriozola. But they lost Cristiano Ronaldo, as he decided to leave the club after an extremely successful period with them.

The Portugal International hinted that he might leave the club this summer after winning the third consecutive Champions League against Liverpool back in May and finally decided to join Serie A champions Juventus.’

Mateo Kovacic has also left the club to join Premier League giants Chelsea on a season long loan and Luka Modric has also been linked with an exit.

The Spanish side are yet to replace the Portugal International as questions are raised over their transfer business. They have been heavily linked with the likes of Neymar and Eden Hazard but still no agreement has been reached with either of them.

The La liga giants haven’t had a great start to the campaign as they were comprehensively beaten 4-2 by rivals Atletico Madrid in the Uefa Super Cup.

Club’s head coach Julen Lopetegui batted away talk about possible transfer targets ahead of his side’s first La Liga game of the season against Getafe on Sunday.

“Right now we’re focusing on getting the best out of the squad we have which is a squad we love, we have a lot of talent and we’re going to work with it,” said Lopetegui as quoted by Sky Sports.

“We like the players we have and I have no doubts about the squad I have. Our players have a fantastic attitude, and people are going to see a Madrid side with a lot of talent. The important players are the ones that are here, not the ones that are not.”
