The Spanish giants are set to go head to head in the transfer window this time, as Real Madrid look to secure the signing of Jose Giminez from Atletico Madrid according to Marca.
The Uruguayan international centre back currently has a release clause of 60 million euros and Los Blancos consider it is an acceptable price, believing he is the best that can be signed at this time.
The 13 times European champions were interested in signing him back in 2015, but at that time they did not want to force the already tense relations with Atletico and therefore gave up on the idea.
Now signing him would significantly weaken their local rivals and strengthen their already star studded line up.
