Manchester United boss, Louis Van Gaal is hoping to persuade Real Madrid’s Fabio Coentrao to join Manchester United this January. He will ask current Old Trafford stars Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao to help in the process.
With the above sharing the same agent as Coentrao, Van Gaal is rather hoping that the Portugal international can be directed towards the Red Devils.
With new boy Luke Shaw struggling with fitness since his £30million arrival in the summer, United are looking to bolster their defence in the coming months, and it looks like Coentrao may be surplus to requirements at Real.
With United in a rebuilding phase, defence has become the biggest concern for the manager, and we can expect more signings in January to alleviate any problems in that area.
The 26-year-old full-back, who can also play down the wing, has won a host of honours in his career so far. The fully established international, once of Benfica, has a winners medals in the top leagues in Portugal and Spain, and has also tasted Super Cup and Champions League success with Real Madrid.
He will bring a host of experience to Old Trafford if the move goes ahead.
