Defender has sparked interest from Spain

Real Madrid are reportedly weighing up a move for Arsenal centre-back Laurent Koscielny.

The 29-year-old Frenchman, who helped his side to FA Cup glory on Saturday, has arose as a potential transfer for the Spanish side, who want to add new recruits in time for the upcoming season.

And reports in Spain, and the Daily Express suggest that Koscielny is on the list of Rafa Benitez, who is set to be appointed as Madrid manager next week.

Having signed for the North London outfit in the summer of 2010 from Lorient, and Koscielny has gone onto make 147 appearances, 40 of which have come in the 2014/15 season.

Duo Departure

Should he leave the Emirates Stadium for pastures new this summer, Koscielny could be joined by Nacho Monreal, who is likely to depart Arsenal, in favour of a move to Athletic Bilbao.

There are talks that Arsene Wenger could even use the defender as bait to land Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, with the Arsenal boss a fan of his compatriot.
