Real Madrid has reportedly labelled French defender Raphael Varane as non-transferable. The player has been closely linked with a move away from the club and has been one of the mainstays in the defence for the Galacticos for a long time. Manager Zinedine Zidane is also known to be a fan of his abilities, which makes him a regular in the Real Madrid backline if he stays fit.
However, the French ace has found life difficult in the backline this season for the former Champions League winners. Apart from missing a chunk of the season due to injury concerns, the centre back has also not done enough to keep the goal away from harm. His partnership with Sergio Ramos in the heart of the Real Madrid backline has not been able to click this season so far and this has also been a prime reason behind the 13 times Champions League winners having a disastrous season both in the domestic arena as well as on the European stage.
Hopefully, the decision to keep hold of the Frenchman will not backfire for the Real Madrid team management in the future.
