Real Madrid no longer interested in Eden Hazard- Asensio to the rescue

Real Madrid are no longer interested in Chelsea star Eden Hazard according to reports from Spain.

Here’s some brilliant news for Blues fans: Eden Hazard is staying at Stamford Bridge! (Well for the time being).

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Real Madrid no longer want the Belgian ace due to the emergence of Marco Asensio, who has been phenomenal.

The 21-year-old has established himself as not only a starter for manager Zinedine Zidane’s side- but is also seen as one of their stars now with four goals and three assists in 14 appearances in the La Liga.

Earlier, other reports from Spain suggested Asensio was against Eden Hazard joining the Blues as he feared his place in the side would be threatened if Hazard arrived.

Asensio, reportedly, gave Zinedine Zidane and club president Florentina Perez an ultimatum- stating he would leave the club if Hazard joined. So essentially an ‘either me or him’ scenario.

Additionally, it’s been reported that Chelsea have not even offered Hazard a contact extension yet and were planning on talks in the new year. So all of this talk from Eden Hazard’s father stating his son rejected a contract seems as if it could’ve been fabricated.

Asencio is talented but he is not better than Hazard yet. At this crucial moment Real Madrid needs experienced players not talented inexperienced young players with big demands. I like Asencio but he is not at that level yet; he has been intermittent, and Madrid needs consistency.
