La Liga giants eyeing reunion with Chelsea manager

Real Madrid want to reappoint Jose Mourinho as their manager, according to reports.

Mourinho, who is now back at Chelsea for a second-stint, has been strongly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge following the club’s poor start to the campaign.

The Blues sit 14th in the Premier League, and are already playing catch-up for a Champions League spot next season after winning just four league games out of 15.

Mourinho left Real Madrid after being sacked by Florentino Perez back in 2013, but with Rafa Benitez not winning over the fans or the majority of the players, the president could be ready to make another change.

Benitez took over from Carlo Ancelotti ahead of this season, but things haven’t gone well for the Spaniard, and according to a source close to the Spanish outfit, Perez would take Mourinho back in a heart-beat.

Perez Wants Reunion

A source told the Sun: “If Florentino could have Jose back without any trouble, he’d do it tomorrow.

“We are not at that stage yet.

“But it is true that they are in regular contact and their relationship goes way beyond the professional. They are friends.”
