Real Madrid plotting Vidal swap deal

Real Madrid could be set to shatter the transfer plans of Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United by offering Sami Khedira in a part-exchange deal for Arturo Vidal. Both of the midfielders were linked with moves to England over the summer, but neither of them ended up making the switch.

But the interest from the three Prem clubs hasn’t wavered – Man United are stll keen on a move for Vidal, while Arsenal and Chelsea are both planning January bids for Khedira. And with Juventus now reportedly willing to sell the Chile man (due to persisting problems with a knee injury) they could be prepared to half their asking price for the 27-year old.

The Red Devils have even considered offering Juan Mata as part of a deal for the Serie A star. However, all their plans could soon be scuppered, with Real reportedly offering Khedira and a small fee for Vidal.

Madrid aren’t willing to match the midfielder’s asking price in cash, but they are prepared to offer a player and a smaller amount of money to try and secure a deal.

The ball is now in Juve’s court – would they rather sign Juan Mata or do they feel Khedira would be a better option, as he would be able to replace Vidal, who would be moving in the opposite direction.
