Real Madrid are back to targeting the next line of top youth talents and this time its Erling Haaland.
It has only been a few months since his switch from Red Bull Salzburg to Dortmund and Haaland has already scored 12 goals in 11 games.
He has registered 40 goals in 33 appearances in total this term as a 19-year-old. Let’s just say, his talents have been noticed by the entire footballing world and Real Madrid are preparing an attractive offer to get him.
Dortmund will put up some resistance, given how they signed him only a couple of months back. The Bundesliga giants would like to keep Haaland for at least one more season but the striker had a €75m release clause attached to his contract right upon his arrival to BVB.
Madrid are more than capable of paying that sum and are willing to after losing all faith on Luka Jovic. Just like Haaland, Jovic was one of the hottest Bundesliga talents in 2018 and was picked up for around £50m to replace Karim Benzema.
The Serbian failed to impress in his debut campaign and is likely to quit the Bernabeu after this season. Haaland will be pretty much handed the reigns to the number nine spot with Benzema nearing the end of his Real career. However, the Frenchman will be difficult to upstage, given his run of form for Real after Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure.
