Real Madrid have reportedly prepared a huge bid to lure Kalidou Koulibaly to Santiago Bernabeu to end their defensive disarrays this season. The Napoli defender had been in the headlines recently for falling victim to racial abuse by Inter Milan fans and received huge support from the football fraternity regarding the humiliation he had to face. However, the player has been a long term transfer target for Premier League giants Manchester United as well, who are also not having a very good time with their defensive department.
While the likes of Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane have been ineffective, to say the least, the physical presence of the Ivory Coast international and his ability to vie for the ball fearlessly, whether on the pitch or in the air, could make him a very valuable addition to the Real Madrid lineup.
However, their interest in the Serie A defensive beast can see Los Blancos getting involved in a bidding war with the Red Devils as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would be looking to strengthen his backline and make a run for the top four spots in the business end of the season. It would be interesting to see who could finally get the prized scalp of the Napoli ace or whether he chooses to stay put at the Serie A outfit.
