Real Madrid star tells club he will join Chelsea if demands not met
Real Madrid star Marco Asensio could be about to send shockwaves through European football by demanding a move to Chelsea, according to reports today.
According to the Daily Express – who cite Spanish source Don Balon – the 21 year-old is not happy with his lack of opportunities at the Bernabeu and is ready to force a move to Stamford Bridge.
Asensio is widely regarded as one of the biggest talents in world football, but despite his great start to the season he has had to settle for a place on the bench in recent weeks.
With Gareth Bale and Mateo Kovacic still to return form injury, his chances could be even more limited with all the competition for places in Zinedine Zidane’s squad.
Reports say that like Alvaro Morata last season, Asensio is keen for first team football and sees West London as the perfect place to find it.
So far this season he has scored seven goals in 19 matches. He helped Madrid to a Super Cup win over Barcelona with August where he scored home and away, but in La Liga they trail the Blaugrana by 10 points.
It’s no secret that los Blancos hold a long standing interest in Blues star Eden Hazard, but could Asensio be set to move the other way?
