The Spanish giants are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper

Real Madrid are ready to up their interest in two of the Premier League’s best goalkeepers this summer, according to reports today.

The Spanish side have been actively looking for a new goalkeeper for the past few seasons now and they are ready to launch full-blown moves for both Thibaut Courtois and David De Gea this summer in a bid to sign one of them.

Madrid would be happy with either man, as they believe both would do a good job in between the sticks for the club.

De Gea has been a longtime target for the La Liga side, with the club almost completing a move for the Spaniard back in 2015, only for a deal to collapse right at the last.

They’ve continued their interest in him but have also begun to look at Thibaut Courtois as another option. The Belgium international has impressed for both his club and country and has therefore piqued the interest of Madrid.

Unhappy with Navas’ performances

Real’s current number one is Keylor Navas but the club are reportedly ready to replace the keeper, as they do not believe he is good enough to be a regular shot-stopper for the club.

He was at fault at the weekend and it has driven Madrid chiefs to up their interest in the two Premier League keepers – with the club desperate to sign one of the two, as they are their two main goalkeeping targets.

However, neither Chelsea or Man United will give up their respective goalkeeper without a fight. De Gea has become an instrumental player for the Red devils at Old Trafford and it would take a large fee to convince them to part ways with him.

The same can be said for Courtois, who has quickly established himself as one of Chelsea’s most important players after returning from his loan spell at Atletico Madrid.

Madrid though are desperate for either of them and will be willing to pay whatever it takes to try and tempt one of them into moving to Spain in the summer transfer window.
