Real Madrid have clinched yet another top Brazilian prospect out under the noses of their European rivals.
According to the latest reports, Flamengo have accepted Real’s €35m offer for teenager sensation, Reinier. Terms have been agreed between all parties and the midfielder will be unveiled as a Galactico sometime later this month.
Reinier is due to turn 18 in a couple of weeks. This switch to Santiago Bernabeu marks the youngster’s meteoric rise to stardom considering how he just made his senior debut only last July. He struck the back of the net 6 times in 12 appearances to help his side to the Brazilian Serie A title.
Reinier has followed in the footsteps of his compatriots Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo, who took the similar route to the Spanish capital. The former had agreed a new contract until June 2024 with Flamengo a move to Real proved to be far too good to let up.
The details are still fully unclear whether he will be loaned back to the Brazilian outfit or made to feature for Real’s Castilla side this season. Nevertheless, we can hope to see Reinier in action for the Brazilian U23 side in the Olympic qualifiers.
