Bale is likely to leave Real at the end of the season

Gareth Bale has been a frustrated figure at Real Madrid this campaign. He couldn’t establish himself as a regular starter for the team due to his inconsistency, with Zidane prefering Isco and Asensio ahead of him. The injuries also prevented him from a regular run in the team.

Bale’s relationship with Zidane has deteriorated since he was left out of Real Madrid’s last-16 Champions League first leg against Paris Saint-Germain back in February. He did not start the second leg and suffered the same fate in the quarter-final first leg against Juventus.

He began the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu but was taken off at half-time in Real Madrid’s 3-1 defeat. The 28 year old didn’t even travel for weekend game against Malaga and came as a substitute against Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday.

Though the Welshman wants to stay but club president Florentino Perez wants to sell him this summer and use to funds to make some stellar signings, likes of Mohamed Salah and Robert Lewandowski have been heavily linked

Perez has set a price tag of €100 million on Bale but he has realized that the huge price tag is putting teams off. The forward has been sidelined due to injuries many times and no club wants to take such a huge risk.

Gareth Bale’s price tag has dropped to €70 million as Real Madrid hope to spark interest, according to Don Balon . Perez hopes to spark a bidding war between clubs to get Bale’s eventual fee back over €100 million.

Chelsea and Manchester United have shown strong interest in him ahead of the summer transfer window.
