Real Madrid to launch Sterling bid

European champions, Real Madrid, are set to launch a £26million offer for Liverpool star, Raheem Sterling.

The England international has already rejected two contract extensions from the Premier League club and is reportedly a transfer target of Chelsea’s.

However, it’s Madrid that want to make the first move by offering £26m for the winger.

Any potential bids for the 20-year-old are expected to come in over the Summer at the end of the season, rather than this month despite the transfer window being open.

Despite the interest from Chelsea and Madrid, manager Brendan Rodgers, is confident Sterling will extend his Anfield stay.

‘It is something the club are speaking with his representatives on and I would think that would be concluded very imminently,’ he said last week.

‘The player is very happy. It [the delay] is nothing to do with Raheem, he wants to be here so hopefully we get the solution on that very soon.’
