Real Madrid want Liverpool starlet!

Liverpool aren’t having a lot of luck at the moment. Confidence is low, and gloom hangs over Anfield. However, there are a few silver-linings on the horizon; one being Spanish under-18 captain, Pedro Chirivella. He is a huge prospect, oozing talent, and has been compared to his idol and compatriate, Xabi Alonso, a long-time favourite at Anfield. He has even trained with the first team this season, a privilege reserved for the few.

Unfortunately, it seems for the Redmen of Merseyside, silver-linings don’t always materialise.

Ironically, there was much talk of Alonso returning to Liverpool in the summer, but that never happened, much to the dismay of the Kop faithful. And it now looks like Chirivella may also be plying his trade elsewhere in the near future, possibly at Real Madrid.

Liverpool beat off competition from Real Madrid and Barcelona a year ago, and signed the highly rated defensive midfielder for £2million. A bargain given the lads talent.

But now Real are back on his trail.

Despite Chirivella being on a 4-year deal, the lure of playing in his home country, and learning from the best at Real will be attractive, and Liverpool will do well to keep him. Even Steven Gerrard has waxed lyrical about the youngster. It may be time for Stevie to take him under his wing.

With Liverpool’s dramatic loss of form this season, there could be a good way to keep the Spaniard training at Melwood, and not in sunnier climes. Throw him into the first team and tell him to prove himself. If he is as good as everyone is saying, he will surely produce……..and let’s be fair, Liverpool need something, and quickly.

They say every cloud DOES have a silver lining. Will Liverpool’s be Spanish?
