The Polish International has been heavily linked with the La Liga giants

Real Madrid are expected to bolster their side this summer after an underwhelming La Liga claim, falling behind from the likes of Barcelona and Athletico Madrid. One of the key areas that they would like to address is the frontline.

Karim Benzema has been heavily linked with a summer exit and the La Liga giants have been linked to host of strikers like Harry Kane, Robert Lewandowski and Mauro Icardo to replace the France International.

Lewandowski has been heavily linked with a move to Real in recent months after four prolific seasons at Bayern Munich. He has scored 40 goals for the Bundesliga giants in all competitions this season and is the current top scorer in the League with 29 goals.

Despite numerous declarations from the club that the Polish International won’t leave the club this summer, he continues to be linked with a move away. Bayern director Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently insisted the striker would not be leaving as the Bavarians simply do not sell players they want to keep.

But the negotiations between both the clubs have broken down according to  Sky Sports Germany. The Spanish club have been put off by the 29 year old’s £88 million asking price.

The current Champions League holder are likely to look for other potential targets as summer transfer window approaches.
