United and Liverpool interested in Juve striker

Real Madrid look to exercise their buy-back clause in Alvaro Morata’s contract, before selling him to either Manchester United or Liverpool.

Morata proved, last season, why Real were wrong to let him go, scoring 15 in 46 appearances for Juventus, but has struggled for form this season.

However, despite only scoring seven goals in 30 appearances this campaign, the 23-year-old has scored four in his last three games – including two against Inter Milan – which has helped reignite Los Blancos’ interest in the player.

But Real don’t plan to keep the striker, but instead buy him back for £24.6 million in the summer – making Juventus a £9.3 million profit – before selling him for £38 million.

Mourinho admirer of Morata

Liverpool are in need of a striker, with Christian Benteke failing to re-find the form he produced for Aston Villa and Daniel Sturridge continuously suffering injury set-backs.

While Jose Mourinho has been linked with taking over from Louis Van Gaal during the summer and is an apparent admirer of the Spain international and could potentially become the Portuguese’s first signing, should he take over.

Morata signed a new deal in December, which keeps him at the club until 2020. However, Real’s clause in the contract could see the Spaniard leave Turin before the end of his new deal.
