Cristiano Ronaldo picked up the Best FIFA Men’s Player Award last night, however, there were some surprises in the voting.
Ronaldo was the overwhelming pick with 43% selecting the Portuguese international. Lionel Messi was second with 19% of the vote and Neymar was third with 6%.
Chelsea forward Eden Hazard also prioritised a team-mate, with N’Golo Kante his pick for the best player in the world. Ronaldo and Modric completed his selection. The Belgium captain wasn’t the only one who rated Kante as the best, with Bahamas captain Lesly St Fleur and Dominica captain Euclid Bertrand also picking him.
Meanwhile, Liverpool, captain Jordan Henderson selected Ronaldo, Messi and Suarez for the award while manager Gareth Southgate went for Ronaldo, Modric and Toni Kroos.
