Bayern Munich winger Frank Ribery has been ruled out of the Champions League clash with Arsenal, following surgery on his buttocks.
The runaway Bundesliga leaders have revealed that the French international has not recovered in time to play in the first leg against the Gunners.
Ribery has surgery on Thursday to releave the tapped nerve, in a rather unusual injury occurance.
The all conquering Baverians maintained their superb Bundesliga campaign with another win at th weekend, with Bayern beating Baverian rivals FC Nurnburg away from home, 2-0.
Bayern sustained their unbeaten record after Mario Mandzukic and skipper Phillip Lahm made it 45 games without a defeat for the treble winners.
Ribery will be a big loss for a strong Bayern side, with the Frenchman in superb form for the Baverians, and grabbed two just before his unfortunate injury in the 7-0 win against Weder Breman.
Despite his absence though, the German side still have a wealth of talent to cover Ribery, with Mario Gotze and Shaqiri vying for a spot in the line up.
